Freshman Adam Madarassy set a school record in the 100-fly at the NCAA Championships in Minneapolis Friday afternoon. He qualified at No. 35 and improved an impressive five spots to No. 30 with a time of 47.99.
"This speaks volumes of our preparations for the NCAA. It is very difficult to continue to improve this far into your training," said head coach Arthur Albiero. "It is a meet of thirds. One third improve, one third slows down and one third stays the same. We are happy to be in the top third."
Madarassy will swim his strongest event tomorrow in the 200-fly where he is seeded No. 18.
