In the final meet at Crawford Pool and the final meet for three seniors, the University of Louisville swimming and diving teams upended visiting Evansville. The men won 142-95 and the women won 153-82.
The Cardinals will move to the new Ralph Wright Natatorium next season. The Natatorium is slated for completion this summer. U of L seniors Ann Isaacs, Angie Nicolletta and Tim Thomas were honored in a pre-meet ceremony.
"This was a great way to close this chapter of U of L swimming," said U of L coach Arthur Albiero. "It was a great sendoff for our seniors."
For the women, Isaacs had two firsts with wins in both the 100 fly and the 500-free. Nicolletta won the 100-free and was part of the winning 200-medley relay team.
"I was impressed with great performances, especially diver Katie Elder's win in the 3-meter diving. It was her first dual meet win," said Albiero. "Ann Isaacs had two great wins in her events."
Meet highlights for the men included Adam Madarassy's win in the 100-fly, Tyler Smith's win in the 1000-free and Jonathan Farnham's wins in both the 50- and 100-free
"There is a reason that Adam Madarassy is ranked in the top 25 ranking in this event at this time," said Albiero. "I wanted to mention that Travis Gray had his best meet of the season with major contributions in the 1000 and the 500-free."
Newcomer Robbie Lewis won the three-meter board and Mason Roberts was third to add points for the Cardinals. Roberts won the 1-meter board with a score of 283.95.
