Cardinal Rowing Announces 2004-05 Novice Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing program has announced the addition of 21 student-athletes to its 2004-05 novice team following last week's tryouts. The Cards will open the fall season on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Murray State. Message from U of L Rowing: Congratulations to those that participated in the tryouts and were selected to be part of this years 2004-2005 novice class. The first team meeting is on Tuesday Sept 7, 04 at 5 pm at the Rowing Office. The rowing office is at the fairgrounds, the easiest way to get there is to enter Gate 4 off of Crittenden Dr. (near Cardinal Hall of Fame cafe). Go past the ticket gate entrance and you will see the 1 story brick UofL athletic building, you will see a red awning and it is at the base of the old football stadium. All novice rowers should bring their daytimers and to be aware of their class schedule so they can sign up for the practise sessions. We will also be doing the rest of the compliance paperwork and going over our team objectives and schedules. Following the meeting we will be going to Crawford Gym to do our safety swim test - please bring your bathing suit and student ID. If you are not able to attend this meeting due to class (only reason) please call Laurie at 852-8121 so we can make alternate plans for having you go to compliance (the compliance office is on the second floor of the Student Activity Center - Contacts Daniel Gossom 852-1680 or Christine Simatacolos 852-8871). The first day of practise at the boathouse is set for Wednesday, Sept. 8.
