PHILADELPHIA, PA - Former University of Louisville All-American Mark Jurich has been named Appalachian League Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, August 29th. Jurich, an outfielder for the Danville Braves hit .500(13-26), driving in 14 and hitting three home runs on the week. He posted a 1.038 slugging percentage, a .563 on-base percentage and scored nine runs. Jurich set a new single season home run record for the Braves last week, and now has 16 round trippers on the season to go with his .281 average and 47 RBI in 50 regular season games. The Braves have clinched the East Division and will meet the Greeneville Astros in a best of three championship series starting Tuesday night.
