LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville travels to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for this weekend's Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championships.
Jessica Grigsby and Lisa Terreberry will compete in the Women's Pair competition, while Leslie Walters, Allison Kemphaus, Brooke Spence, Stephanie George and coxswain Christy Ochsner will compete in the Varsity 4+ race.
The Cardinals will be entered in a pair of Novice 8+ races as well. In the First Novice 8+ shell will be Colleen Blaschuk, Nicole Alderson, Martha Shults, Beth Daunhauer, Jen Allen, Melissa Grieshaber, Dana Osoffsky, Stephanie Baker and coxswain Jenna Sample.
In the Second Novice 8+ race will be Charly Day, Katie Prince, Becky Popham, Denise Borders, Adrienne Roman, Erica Boils, Sarah Millican, Amy Isaacs and coxswain Devon Scott.
Last year, the Cardinals placed third in the Varsity 8+ race and second in the Second Novice 8+ competition. The highest finish by the Cardinals' Varsity 4+ was 3rd of 24 teams back in 2001.

Cardinals Finish Sixth at San Diego Crew Classic
Louisville placed sixth in the Cal Cup Eight Grand Final at the San Diego Crew Classic last Sunday afternoon at Bishop Bay.
Louisville finished the 2000-meter race with a time of 7:32.93. Loyola won the event in 7:12.70, edging Miami (7:16.65).
The Cardinal boat was comprised of Leslie Walters, Allison Kemphaus, Amelia Buhts, Lisa Terreberry, Carmen Noltemeyer, Nicole Alderson, Jessica Grigsby, Stephanie George and Christy Ochsner.
The Cardinals advanced to the finals after placing second in Saturday's third heat race with a time of 6:57.39, the fourth fastest time of the day and three seconds behind winner UCLA (6:54.25). The top two finishers in the three heats advanced to the Grand Final.
Midway through Saturday's 2000-meter race and in fifth place, the Cardinals began to make their move. With 500 meters to go and still in third place, U of L had a burst of speed to finish the final stretch in 1:41.50, the fastest 500-meter split in the last 1500 meters of the race.
Cardinals Win Two at Indiana Home Meet
Louisville won two races last Saturday at the Indiana Home Meet in Bloomington.
The Cardinals' Second Varsity 8+ squad came away with both wins on the day. In the morning session, U of L finished the 2000-meter course in 7:01.00 to defeat North Carolina (7:05.02) and Eastern Michigan (7:09.29).
The crew consisted of coxswain Diana Golub, Colleen Blaschuk, Beth Daunhauer, Brooke Spence, Mandy Moore, Dana Osoffsky, Karen Bramer, Olivia Brittain and Stephanie Baker.
In the afternoon session, the Cardinals won with a time of 7:02.00, winning the race by 10 seconds. Eastern Michigan was second at 7:12.39 and Indiana was third (7:19.87).
In the boat for the Cardinals was Golub, Blaschuk, Daunhauer, Spence, Moore, Osoffsky, Bramer, Brittain and Melissa Grieshaber.
The Novice 4+ team finished second behind North Carolina in the morning session and third behind UNC and Indiana in the afternoon.
The Cards' Novice 8+ team placed third in both its races, finishing behind UNC and EMU in the morning and IU and EMU in the afternoon.
