
Mayer Named C-USA Tennis Player of the Week

University of Louisville tennis player Matt Mayer was named Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week on March 30.
The senior from Houston, led No. 46 Louisville to a 5-2 win against No. 50 William and Mary. He defeated No. 35 Jeff Kader, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with sophomore Jeremy Clark to post an 8-5 victory against No. 31 Geoff Russell and Steven Kane. Mayer and Clark are currently No. 26 in the ITA doubles rankings and have compiled a 13-5 record in dual matches this season. Mayer improved to 9-7 in singles.
The Cardinals (15-7) have won 25 consecutive matches at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The men's tennis team will travel to Madison, Wis., to play the Badgers on Wednesday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m.
