Men's Golf Captures Fall Shores Classic

GULF SHORES, Ala. -- - The University of Louisville men's golf team captured its second championship of the fall season by winning the Fall Shores Classic at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon in Gulf Shores, Ala.
The Cardinals shot 873 for the two day tournament, winning by one shot over Texas-Arlington, who fired an 874. Louisville also won the Cardinal Intercollegiate in late September.
Louisville placed three golfers in the top 10 in senior Brett Jones and freshmen Daryl Fathauer and Derek Fathauer. Jones finished in fourth place by firing 69-71-77=217 and the Fathauer's were tied for sixth after carding 219.
Senior Charlie Woo was tied for 16th place after shooting 72-71-80=223. Freshman Paul Betty was tied for 46th with 76-82-76=234.
"We're every excited about winning our second tournament," said head coach Mark Crabtree. "Our guys played well in adverse conditions and we hung on to win."
