LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing team will compete in a series of races on Saturday at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., as the Cardinals prepare for their first major test of the 2004 fall season at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Oct. 24.
The Cardinal crew, which opened the fall campaign with three wins at Murray State on Sept. 11, has not competed since that trip after the Head of the Licking Regatta, scheduled for Sept. 25, was cancelled due to high water levels. This weekend's event at IU will be the Cards' final prep races before U of L travels to the Head of the Eagle Regatta on Oct. 23 and the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Oct. 24.
"We're excited to get back in the water and continue our preparation for the Head of the Charles," said U of L head coach Richard Ruggieri. "Physically, we're in pretty good shape right now, but we need to continue to work hard and move forward with our times."
Following the Head of the Charles, U of L will close out the fall schedule at the Head of the Schuylkill on Oct. 30 in Philadelphia, Pa.
