BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Kenzie Meisenburg went two for four with a triple and a run to lead the University of Louisville to a 2-1 win over UAB in Conference USA softball action at George Ward Field.
The Cardinals are now 22-24 and 8-8 in league play. UAB drops to 31-17 and 11-7 in C-USA play.
Meisenburg led the game off with a triple and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Sara Bausher to take an early lead. The Cardinals added the winning run in the top of the third withn Nicole Sparks reached on a fielder's choice advanced on a single by Shannon Nord and was driven home by a Lisa McMillan single. Pitcher Jessica Rak got the complete game win giving up eight hits, one run and striking out two.
