TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The University of Louisvllle softball team lost to Florida Atlantic 4-0 on Sunday in Tallahassee on the final day of the Florida State Seminole Challenge.
After four scoreless innings, Florida Atlantic put up a four spot in the top of the fifth inning when Ginny Matthews led off the inning with a walk, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Heather Wright's triple. Wright crossed the plate on Nicole Myers' double to make the score 2-0. A home run by Pam Mazzarella brought in Myers to give the Owls a 4-0 lead. Florida Atlantic improves to 8-1 on the season.
Offensively, the Cardinals had six hits and were led by Lisa Estes who went two-for-three.
U of L (0-4) will travel to Tucson, Ariz. to play in the Arizona Pepsi Challenge Feb. 15-17.
