Women's Swimming Knocks Off Nebraska

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- In her last home meet as a Cardinal, senior Angela Hong had two firsts and a second to help the University of Louisville to a 124-114 win over visiting Nebraska at Crawford Pool.
In all, the Cardinals won seven of 13 events to beat the Huskers. Hong won the 50-free and was part of the 200-Medley Relay team. she was less than a second behind in the 100-free for a second place finish.
The Cardinals had strong showings from Stephanie Tucker, who won the 400 IM by more than eight seconds. She also won the 200 back and anchored the winning 800-Free Relay team. Teammate Lauren Seymour had a win in the 1000-free finishing with a 10:33.65 time, followed by teammate Ann Isaacs who finished second at 11:11.44. Seymour also won the 500 free by a margin of almost 15 seconds and was on the winning 800-Free Relay Team.
"We were winning races, but Nebraska had a full squad and built up points with their additional people in the water. They stayed close and it came down to the final relay race," said head coach Sonya Porter. "It made for an exciting meet."
Nebraska's Jerilyn Drummond swept the diving events to be the leading point scorer for the Huskers, who are coached by former Olympic medallist Pablo Morales.
