BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The University of Louisville women's rowing team won a silver and bronze medal Saturday at the LemonHead Regatta.
The event, which was hosted by Indiana University and Riddle Point Rowing Association, was held on Lake Lemon in Bloomington. All races were three miles in length.
In the Varsity 8+ race, the Cardinals placed second out of 13 crews to win the silver medal. The Varsity 4+ team came away with a bronze after finishing third out of 10 boats.
In the Novice 4+ event, the Cards entered two boats and finished fourth and sixth in the eight-team race.
"This was a good weekend for us," said head coach Richard Ruggieri. "The competition was a little tougher than last week, and we needed that as we prepare for the prestigious Head of the Charles."
The Cardinals will take a week off from competition before traveling to Boston on Saturday, October 20, for the Head of the Charles, the world's largest regatta.
