Louisville, Ky. - Anastasia Zaitseva had 11 kils and five blocks to lead the University of Louisville volleyball team to a three-game sweep of Dayton in the Louisville international Tournament yesterday in Cardinal Arena.
The Cardinals, now 2-0, won 15-2, 15-10, 15-8. Dayton evened its record to 1-1.
"Our blocking was disrupting their offense," said Leonid Yelin, whose team outblocked Dayton 13-1. "Our two freshmen, Anastasia (Zaitseva) and Bing Sun were right there challenging their hitters on every swing."
Middle blocker Lesley Drury had 10 kills on 16 attacks with 9 digs and three blocks.
The Cardinals out-hit the Flyers .279 to .069 and had 52 digs to UD's 25.
Louisville plays Canada Sunday afternoon at 2 .m. for the conclusion of the tournament.
