
Final Round 295 Moves Men's Golf Into Sixth Place

DELLWOOD, MN -- Paced by Grant Sturgeon's one-under par 71, the University of Louisville men's golf team posted a final round 295 to finish in sixth place at the season-opening PSINet / Minnesota Invitational. With his final round 71, Sturgeon led all Cardinal golfers tying for 11th place with a three-round total of 224 (+8).
Senior Chris Campbell backed Sturgeon on the final day with an even par 72 to finish the tournament in a tie for 18th place with two other golfers.
Junior college transfer Greg Garcia shook off the effects of an opening round 82 to shoot 74-73 over the final 36 holes and finish in a tie for 24th place.
U of L resumes its fall schedule Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 as it travels to Illinois for the Northern Intercollegiate.
