Kohler Leads Baseball Past Florida 11-7

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Scott Kohler collected four singles to lead a 17-hit attack as Louisville knocked off Florida 11-7 Tuesday night at McKethan Stadium in Gainesville.
Trailing 4-2 in the top of the fourth, the Cardinals (3-11) scored six runs to take an 8-2 lead and then added a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to secure their first road win of the season.
Curtis Sapp added three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs, while Mike Hook Bill Gatti, Jr. and Rob Partin each had two hits in the win. Gatti, making his first start of the year, connected on his first home run of the season in the seventh inning. All nine Cardinal starters had at least one hit and and eight of the nine scored at least one run.
Brad Mattingly (2-3) earned the win, going 5 2/3 innings in relief of Cardinal starter Denny Williams.
The Cardinals and Gators (10-9) complete the two-game series at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
