LUFKIN, TEXAS -- The University of Louisville men's golf team recorded a solid seventh-place showing at the Crown Classic held in Lufkin, Texas. The 54-hole event was shortened to 36 holes after rain washed away Monday's afternoon round.
Juniors Grant Sturgeon and Geoff Nuwash recorded top 20 finishes for the Cardinals with Sturgeon leading the way at 149 (+5). Nuwash was grouped with six other golfers in a tie for 20th place at seven over par.
As a team, the Cardinals fired a final round 305 to tie Oral Roberts University. U of L and ORU finished the tournament 18 shots behind team champion Arkansas-Little Rock.
