
Volleyball Sweeps UAB

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville rained sevice aces down, 12 in all, on UAB to sweep the Blazers 15-6, 15-7, 15-3 in Conference USA volleyball action in Cardinal Arena.
The Cardinals,13-6, are on a six-match winning streak and have a 6-3 C-USA mark. UAB falls to 5-15 and remains winless in the league at 0-8.
"We served so well tonight. It is unusual to get 12 aces in a long match, let alone a three-game match," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "We must win our league games at home."
Jing Ding, Anastasia Zaitseva and Sarah Drury each had three aces for the Cardinals.
Louisville had another outstanding hitting outing with 42 kills to UAB's 27 to hit .447 .
Louisville's Sun and Zaitseva also had double digit kills with 12 and 10 respectively. Lesley Drury had seven kills on 10 attacks with only one hitting error. The Cardinals, ranked No. 14 in the nation in blocks, had seven blocks to UAB's one.
