UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The University of Louisville women's golf team placed two golfers in the top 10 to finish third at the Penn State Invitational.
Katherine Mowat shot a 71, 73, 74 for a 218, just eight strokes off Oregon's Pam Sowden's winning score of 210. Cindy Pasechnik shot a 74, 72,76 to finish 7th for the Cardinals.
"I think the first day, we were just happy to to be hanging in there with the likes of Penn State and Oregon. But as the tournament went along, they managed to gain confidence and played with poise," said Kelly Meyers, U of L head golf coach.
Oregon finished with an 885 followed by Penn State's 888. Louisville and Ohio University tied with 902 for third.
