Cheyanne Tarango is in her third season working with the University of Louisville Softball program. after spending the 2016 season as a volunteer assistant and the 2017 season as a graduate manager.

In her first season with Louisville, her duties included working with pitchers, offense and defense in practice and game preparation. She helped the Cardinals to a 35-17 overall record and a 15-8 mark in ACC play to finish second in the regular season conference standings.

“Cheyanne comes from a program that has had tremendous success and we look forward to her joining our program," said UofL head coach Sandy Pearsall upon Tarango's hiring in the fall of 2015.

Tarango joined the Cardinals after a four-year career at the University of Tennessee (2012-15). During her time in Knoxville, the pitcher/infielder helped the Lady Vols to three Women’s College World Series appearances (2012, 2013 and 2015) and an NCAA runner-up finish in 2014.

She collected 14 wins in the circle while belting out 19 career home runs, including 10 in the 2013 season.

Tarango was a member of USA Softball’s junior national team in 2010 and 2011.
