Kelsey Penebaker was named the director of sports medicine/women's health for the University of Louisville in August 2021. Penebaker also serves as the athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball team.
Prior to coming to U of L, Penebaker was the athletic trainer for volleyball and dance at the University of Michigan since July of 2016. She served in the same position at the University of Michigan for field hockey and cheerleading from July 2014 to July 2016.
A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Penebaker graduated from Winona State University with a bachelor of science in athletic training. She obtained her master of arts in integrative studies with a concentration in public health administration from Northern Kentucky University in May of 2013, where she was a graduate assistant athletic trainer for women's volleyball and men's and women's tennis.
Penebaker is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Association. She holds certifications in Functional Dry Needling levels 1 & 2, Graston 1 & 2 and her clinical practice specializes in manual therapy and myofascial release. Kelsey lives with her dog, Jax.
