Jimmy Dorneman joined the sports medicine staff in the summer of 2010. In the summer of 2021, he was elevated to the Director of Sports Medicine role. His primary clinical responsibilities are with men’s & women’s Soccer. In addition to soccer, he also oversees the health care needs of the men’s & women’s tennis teams with the help of two seasonal assistants. Â
Jimmy earned his B.S. in athletic training from King's College in 2008 and continued his education at West Virginia University, receiving a master's degree in athletic training in 2010.Â

Jimmy is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer (ATC). He maintains licensure through the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure as well as having certifications in GRASTON soft tissue mobilizations, Active Release Technique (ART), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), myofascial decompression, Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), Postural Restoration Technique, Dynamic Taping, Kinesiotaping, IV certification, Dry Needling certification and American Heart Association CPR/First Aid instructor.Â

He resides in Louisville.
