2004-- Jennifer Craven shared setting duties with freshman Elena Pilnikova in Louisville's 6-2 offense. She had 795 assists and 18 service aces. She also had 178 digs. Her steady influence and competitive spark makes her a natural team leader. She had her best two games in the NCAA last year with 40 assists versus Illinois and 41 in the upset against Missouri.
2003-- As U of L's setter, this floor leader had a team-high 940 assists and 240 digs. She had 23 assists and 14 digs against Notre Dame. She has 58 kills with a hitting percentage of .201. She notched season-high four aces versus ECU. Had a season-high 15 digs against Marquette, Charlotte and Western Michigan. Had 93 assists and 21 digs in the three matches of the C-USA tournament.
2002-- Jennifer had planned to use 2002 as a redshirt year but ended up not only starting every game, but winning Freshman of the Year Honors in Conference USA. She was named to the All-Freshman team as well as to the All-Arkansas Tournament and All-LDIT Tournament lists. She is the first starting freshman setter since 1998, when Jing Ding was a part-time setter who played in 89 of 120 games. She was third in the conference in assists, averaging 13.14 per game. She was second in aces with 35 and had 289 digs. She had a season high assist total of 69 in the five game marathon match with Cincinnati.
High School -- Jennifer lettered four years at Assumption HS as a setter leading her team to four straight state championships and two national rankings. She won the 1999 110% Award and was named to the All-StateTournament team in 2000 and 2001. She earned a berth on the Nike Challenge team in 2001 and won the Sportsmanship Award in 2001. She played club ball with KIVA and was coached by Dan Palmer.
Personal --Daughter of Chuck and Leigh Ann Craven. Major is justice administration. She and her twin brother were born Dec. 24, 1983.
