Bio
2024:Â Charitie was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team, NCAA All-Louisville Regional Team, AVCA All-South Regional Team, All-ACC First Team, and the AVCA Division I Player of the Year Watchlist. Luper also collected AVCA First Serve Best Outside Hitter and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention honors and was tabbed as ACC Offensive Player of the Week once in 2024. The senior was selected as the eighth pick in the third round of the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation, going to the Las Vegas Thrill. She played 123 sets at outside hitter, amassing 381 kills, 262 digs, 14 assists, 21 service aces and 58.0 total blocks for the Cards. Luper recorded 10+ kills in 18 matches this season. She recorded eight double-doubles (kills/assists), including two in the NCAA Tournament, against Wisconsin, Tennessee, Creighton, Clemson, Pitt, Northern Iowa and twice against Stanford. In 2024, Luper recorded in-game career highs in attacks (59), aces (3), digs (17) and total blocks (4). In the National Championship match against Penn State, she tallied a season high 21 kills on 59 attacks. On Oct. 18, Luper became the 26th Cardinal to record 1,000 career kills and now sits at 17th on the all-time list with 1,208.
2023:Â Charitie transferred in from UCLA and earned a starting spot, taking over after All-American Claire Chaussee graduated. She earned First Team All-ACC honors and was named to the AVCA All-East Region First Team. She played in 115 sets for the Cardinals and amassed 344 kills, 15 assists, 27 aces and 242 digs. She recorded five double-doubles (Kills/assts) including Wright State, Stanford, Pitt, Georgia Tech and Creighton. She had a season-high 24 points at Pitt when she hit .327, with 13 digs and two blocks. She had 20 kills against Creighton in the NCAA tournament regional, hitting .341 with 10 digs and a block. She had a season-high three aces and three assists at Pitt. She had two aces against Troy, Stanford, Boston College, Duke, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Clemson. She had a season-high four blocks in the NCAA tournament against Wright State. She hit a season-high .550 (11-0-20) against South Dakota. In all, she scored 397.5 points for the Cardinals in 2023. An outstanding student, she was named to the ACC All-Academic squad, a CSC Academic All-District and the Athletic Director Honor Roll.
2022 (at UCLA) : Luper was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention and AVCA Pacific South All-Region Honorable Mention after leading the Bruins with 3.28 kills per set and ranking second on the team with a .242 hitting percentage (min. 200 attacks). She totaled 256 kills and 184 digs in 21 matches and 78 sets played while making19 starts and leading the Bruins in kills in eight matches. She notched nine double-doubles, good for second most on the squad and reached double-digit kills in 15 of her 21 matches. She set a new career-high in kills with 25 at a .440 clip in a double-double effort with 11 digs at Arizona (Oct. 9). She led the Bruins in a monster comeback, fourth-set victory at Hawai’i with six kills and a 7-0 run from the service line with two aces to end the set, finishing the match with a team-high 17 kills at .455 and three blocks. She notched 15 kills at .406 in her first start of the season versus Washington and recorded 18 kills and two blocks versus Oregon with 15 kills at .257 and a career-high 16 digs in a double-double showing at Utah. She tallied 15 kills and 12 digs versus California and had another 15-kill, 12-dig double-double at Oregon. She finished the season with four consecutive double-doubles while racking up 23 blocks and 10 service aces.
Fall 2021 (at UCLA):Â Luper ranked second on the squad with 227 kills, averaging 3.39 kills per set at a .289 hitting percentage over her 18 matches played and was voted Pac-12 Freshman of the Week four times, for the most weekly conference accolades by a Bruin in a single season since Karsta Lowe in 2014. She recorded 19 kills with only three errors for a .410 hitting percentage against USC on Sept. 22 for the most kills by a UCLA freshman in their first home match since Kristee Porter in 1998. she led the Bruins in kills and points in five matches and notched five double-doubles (all kills-digs). She also recorded 17 kills and eight digs versus Georgia Tech and then followed that performance with her first career double-double with 19 kills and 10 digs at San Diego. She scored 18 kills at a .412 clip to go along with eight digs versus Milwaukee. She notched double-digit kills for the third match in a row with 18 kills at a .372 clip at Stanford in another double-double effort featuring 13 digs before tallying 20 kills at a .400 clip versus Utah a week later. She recorded five consecutive double-digit kill outings, including a 13-kill performance (.379 hitting percentage) versus Oregon State on Oct. 24 and a season-high 21 kills for a .333 clip in addition to 11 digs versus Washington State on Oct. 29 . She dug out a season-high 14 balls at Arizona State and struck for five kills at Wisconsin in the Regional Semifinals of the NCAA Tournament on Dec. 9.
Prep: Luper prepped at Byron Nelson HS in Trophy Club, Texas where she finished her career with over 1,500 kills and 1,500 digs, 58 double-doubles and 84 matches with double figures in kills and helped BNHS to a Class 6A State title in 2019, the first in school history. She earned Most Valuable Player honors in the championship match and was named a First Team All-American, All-State and All-Area as a junior when she totaled 492 kills and 508 digs as a junior and also earned Under Armour All-America First Team and AVCA All-Region honors. Coached by Libby Pacheco and Brianne Groth. Charitie played club with Texas Advantage Volleyball and was the MVP at Nationals during her 15s year when TAV won.
