2003 -- Candace, U of L's libero, leads the returners in digs with 289. Had double digit digs in 12 matches with a career-high 22 versus Southern Miss. Had 10 each versus Marquette and Memphis in the C-USA tourney. Averaged 11 digs in the last four matches of the postseason.
2002 -- Candace appeared in 75 games as a defensive specialist. she had five aces and 67 digs. She is a versatile player who logged time in the front row last year as well as back row.
2001 -- Prior to sitting out the 2001 season, Candace traveled to Europe with the Cardinals, although due to NCAA regulations, she was not allowed to play. She transferred to U of L after playing a year at Kentucky. Utilized primarily as a defensive specialist, Cogan had 208 digs and 15 service aces while playing in 102 games. She had been to Russia before when she traveled with Assumption and Coach Ron Kordes.
High School-- Candace was a four-year letterwinner at Assumption High School. AHS won four district, regional and state championships during her tenure there. She was selected to the 1999 All-District team and the All-State second team. She was voted Assumption's All-Around best player in her senior season. She was named to the Principal's List all four years of high school and served as a class representative for student government and participated in the ACT's Program and the National Junior Leadership Medical Forum. She played club ball with KIVA where she was coached by Rick Nold.
Personal-- Daughter of Kevin and Antoinette Cogan. Born November 22, 1981. Major is marketing, and sports admin-istration.
