Catherine Thompson serves as Assistant Director of Academic Services, providing academic support for lacrosse and men’s golf.
Catherine started at UofL in May 2015 as a Graduate Assistant in First Year Initiatives. She transitioned into an Academic Counselor Sr. role for Health and Sport Sciences, serving Sport Administration and Exercise Students, in October 2018. During her time at UofL, she completed two year-long internships with Academic Services for Athletics and became an athletic tutor in Fall 2020.
She has also taught HSS 190: Exploration of Working with Collegiate Student-Athletes at UofL, a course that she revamped and co-created with her colleague, since Fall 2020.
She is originally from Versailles, Kentucky and completed her Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications Management at Eastern Kentucky University in 2013. She has since completed two Master degrees, both at the University of Louisville: Master of Education in College Student Personnel in May 2017 and Master of Science in Sport Administration in May 2020.
Catherine is an active member and leader within YPAL (Young Professionals Association of Louisville), Junior League of Louisville, and ACPA College Student Educators International.
