2021-22:Â McKenzie rowed in the the V8+ boat that posted a time of 14:08.9 at the Rivanna Romp. She also was in the V4 boat that finished with a time of 15:34.43 at the Rivanna Romp. She was on the V8 boat that turned in a time of 6:18.979 on Day 1 of the ORCI. On Day 2 of the ORCI, she rowed on the V8 boat that finished third with a time of 6:33.270. At the Sunshine State Invitational, she was in the V8 boat that finished sixth in the grand final with a time of 6:35.74. At the Lake Wheeler Invitational, she helped the V8 boat to finish second with a time 6:41.725. In head-to-head competition with Michigan, she was on the V8 boat that turned in a time of 6:57.22. At the ACC Championships held at Clemson in 2022, she was in the V8 boat that finished sixth in the grand final with a time of 6:36.284. An outstanding student, she was named as scholar athletes for the 2022 season by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) and was named to the ACC All-Academic team. She is a member of the AD Honor Roll and the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2020-21: Sweeney rowed First Varsity Eight in every race for the Cardinals, earning All-ACC honors. She was named as the CRCA All-Conference Rower as well. She rowed V8 versus Notre Dame, at the Big Ten Invitational, versus Michigan/Iowa, and at the ACC Championships where the Cardinals won the Petite Final. An outstanding student, she was a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, a Red & Black Scholar, and made the Spring 2021 Dean's List. She belongs to Chi Alpha Sigma a nonprofit organization established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. She earned a spot on the ACC Honor Roll and was All-ACC Academic.
2018-19: Appeared in six events over the course of the season … Rowed as a member of the V8+, 2V4+, and V4+ crews … Helped the V8+ crew to a first-place finish in the Championship Eight at the Head of the Hooch … Finished second at the Sunshine State Invitational in the V8+ grand final … Earned a fifth place finish as a member of the V8+ crew at the ACC Championship grand final.
Prior to UofL: Rowed for Winter Park HS for two years … Placed fourth at 2017 Head of the Hooch in varsity eight boat … Two-time runner-up at SRAA Nationals in varsity eight.
