STUDENT TICKETING
Beginning in 2025, Louisville is introducing a new athletic student fee and ticket model designed to align with ACC peers and enhance the student gameday experience. All eligible students are now Ville'ns and have access to football and men's basketball tickets through a lottery system.
The student fee goes directly to Louisville Athletics to support the operational expenses of all 23 sports and more than 650 student-athletes, while also enabling stronger partnerships across campus. This model is built to strengthen student support, increase access, and help deliver a championship-caliber experience—both for our students and our student-athletes.

Ticket & Lottery Process
Starting in 2025, Football and Men's Basketball tickets will be available through a lottery system for all eligible students (those who pay the athletics fee). Tickets to all other home sports will remain available through a general claim process.
Student ticket access includes:
- Football
- Men's Basketball
- Women's Basketball
- Volleyball (KFC Yum! Center matches)
- Baseball
All other home sports are not ticketed and are free for all to attend.
If student ticket requests exceed the available inventory, a lottery will determine who receives tickets.
The lottery will be weighted based on attendance, meaning students who attend more games will have a better chance in future lotteries.
If requests do not exceed inventory, all students who requested a ticket will receive one.
All eligible (full-time, in-person) students will receive an email on the day that the lottery opens with the link(s) to request tickets. To complete the request process, follow the steps outlined below.
STEP 1: After clicking the link, log into your My Cardinals Account. Please use your @louisville.edu email to access your account.

STEP 2: Scroll to view all games available during the lottery.

STEP 3: Click the "+" button to request a ticket for the game. Repeat for each game you wish to request a ticket for.

STEP 4: Once you have selected each game you wish to request a ticket for, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Add to Cart".

STEP 5: Click the "Checkout" button at the bottom of the screen.

STEP 6: Review all of your ticket requests, then select the box at the bottom that reads "I accept the Terms and Conditions". After checking this box, click "Place Order".

STEP 7: Congrats! You have successfully entered the lottery. You will receive an email once the lottery closes regarding the status of your requests.

Ville'ns+ members receive 48-hour early claim access before the general student body.
General request windows open at least 1 week before each game and close 4-6 days prior to gameday. Email and text communication regard specific dates will be shared prior to the request window.

If demand is lower than supply, you will be issued a ticket.
If demand exceeds inventory, a weighted lottery will be used.
Lottery weighting is based on attendance throughout the season (Football, Men's Basketball, and other key sports).
You'll be notified via email and/or text of your lottery status the week of the event. Tickets will then be added to your My Cardinals Account for mobile entry.
Tickets will appear in your account after the lottery closes for each game. This means they won't show up right when you request them. Instead, tickets are uploaded the week of the game, and you'll get an email notification once they've been added to your account.
No. The lottery only applies to football and men's basketball. All other home ticketed sports (Volleyball, Women's Basketball, and Baseball) will follow a first-come, first-served claim process.
About the New Model
Together with the university, we remain committed to supporting student-athletes and competing at the highest level. This model ensures that all eligible students have the opportunity to attend major home sporting events, while also supporting the broader mission of Louisville Athletics to foster pride, community, and a championship-caliber environment for everyone on campus.
Your student fee provides ticket access to home games for:
- Football
- Men's Basketball
- Women's Basketball
- Volleyball (KFC Yum! Center matches)
- Baseball
Additional benefits include:
- Access to enter postseason ticket lotteries
- Lottery entry for exclusive student-only events (e.g., private practices, facility tours)
- Student Appreciation Games
- Discounted student parking at Football & Men's Basketball games
- Free bus transportation to select Men's Basketball games
- Gameday giveaways
We are increasing the number of student tickets allocated for both football and men's basketball to meet higher demand.
However, to ensure fairness and equal access, a lottery system will be used when demand exceeds available inventory.
Eligibility & Access
All full-time, in-person undergraduate and graduate students who pay the student fee are eligible. Students must be full time by August 25 to receive ticket access for the 2025 fall semester.
Part-time and online students are not assessed the student fee and are not eligible. However, they will have access to a discounted season ticket offer:
- Football: $200 (200-level south endzone)
- MBB: $412 (lower corner sections)
Students eligible for this discounted season ticket should reach out to the Louisville Athletics Ticket Office at tickets@gocards.com to purchase.
If you're eligible, you will receive email and/or text communication on the new student ticket process for 2025-26. You will also receive communication prior to each of the ticket request windows, notifying you of the upcoming games and request dates.
If you have any questions regarding the process or your eligibility, please contact the Louisville Athletics Ticket Office - email tickets@gocards.com or text 502-852-5151.
