- Â Â Athletic Directors Honor Roll: 3.0 GPA or higher for the semester.
- Â Â Â Â Fall 2012: 355 of 555 student-athletes (355 is an all-time high)
- Â Â Â Â Spring 2013: 350 of 526 student-athletes
- Â Â 231 student-athletes were named Red and Black Scholar Athletes (3.25 cumulative GPA or better). This is a record number. (Another 80 members of the spirit groups, managers and trainers earned this honor as well).
- Â Â 16 of 19 teams had a 3.0 or higher in the Fall 2012 semester and 17 of 19 teams had a 3.0 or higher in the Spring 2013 semester. The fall semester GPA of 3.115 and the spring semester GPA of 3.133 set new records for semester GPA. The 2012-2013 GPA of 3.124 is also a new annual high. This marks five straight semesters the total semester GPA has been above a 3.0.
- Â Â 7 teams had record numbers on the AD Honor Roll for a single semester including Men's Basketball (15), Baseball (29), Women's Soccer (24), Men's Tennis (11), Rowing (45), Men's Soccer (23) and Football (48).
- Â Â Women's Golf earned the highest GPA for both the 2012 Fall and 2013 Spring semesters. This is the fifth semester in a row they have had the highest GPA.
-   Peyton Siva has been named to the Capital One District 2 Academic All-District 2 men's basketball first team and to the 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Men's Basketball second team. He was also selected as the 2013 American Eagle Outfitters BIG EAST Scholar Athlete of the Year.
- Â Â Russ Smith (Men's Basketball), Adrian Bushell (Football) and Lola Arslanbekova (Volleyball) have been honored with a 2013 Academic Momentum Award, as presented by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports and the Scholar Baller program.
- Â Â Clayton Coleman, Men's Swimming, received a Fulbright Scholarship. He is our second student-athlete to earn this prestigious award.
- Â Â Jude Schimmel won the women's basketball NCAA Elite 89 Award.
- Â Â Wayne Blackshear won the men's basketball NCAA Elite 89 Award.
- Â Â Ben Ogle, Men's Swimming, was given the Joseph R. Trabue Award from the College of Education for the Spring 2013 Commencement.
- Â Â Mike Stratton, Men's Swimming, was awarded the CIS Department's Outstanding Senior Award.
- Â Â Women's golfer, Emily Haas, was named to the Capital One Academic All-District II First Team.
- Â Â Sam Bombaugh, Men's Track and Field, was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Capital One Track and Field Academic All-American second team. In addition, he was earlier named to the Capital One Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team.
- Â Â Will Stein and Alex Kupper were named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society, which recognizes college football student-athletes who maintain a 3.2 grade point average or better.
- Â Â The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named both the Men's and Women's Cross Country squads as all-academic teams for the fourth consecutive year.
- Â Â A record 30 student-athletes from the Louisville Football team were named to the 2013 BIG EAST All-Academic Football Team.
-   Six teams posted a perfect score in the most recent single-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) data released by the NCAA and Men's Basketball, Men's Cross Country and Women's Golf teams are among the top 10 percent in their respective sports.
- Â Â Russ Smith (Men's Basketball), Nikki Boltja (Lacrosse), Erin Conrad (Field Hockey), and Alex Burtch (Men's Swimming and Diving) were chosen to receive the BIG EAST Conference Scholar-Athlete Sports Excellence Award.
- Â Â 280 individual student-athletes were selected to the Big East All-Academic Team for the 2012-13 academic year. The Women's Golf and Men's Basketball teams also earned the 2012-13 Big East Conference Team Academic Excellence Award.
- Â Â Peyton Siva, Stephan Van Treese and Mike Marra have been named to the 2012-13 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, which recognizes college basketball student-athletes who have excelled academically. The entire Cardinals team also received a 2012-13 Team Academic Excellence Award.
- Â Â The Women's Swim and Dive team was selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. In addition, seven individuals from both the men's and women's teams were named first team Scholar All-Americans An additional five members were named Honorable Mention winners.
- Â Â Both the Men's and Women's Track and Field teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors. The women's team was tabbed a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team for the ninth-straight year. Individually, each squad placed three student-athletes on their respective men's and women's USTFCCCA All-Academic teams.
- Â Â Natasha Leickly (Field Hockey) and Mandy Brown (Women's Tennis) were names Outstanding Graduating Seniors at the Red and Black Honors Banquet.
- Â Â Zachary Torp (Men's Soccer) and Candice Wiley (Women's Golf) were named Cardinal Postgraduate Scholarship recipients.
- Â Â The Field Hockey team was named to the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award list. Additionally, seven players were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
- Â Â Field Hockey players Natasha Leickly and Paige Monsen were named 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division Scholars of Distinction.
- Â Â Women's Golf had five players named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars.
- Â Â Six members of the Rowing team were selected as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) scholar athletes.
- Â Â Women's Soccer received recognition as a NSCAA Team Academic Award winner.
- Â Â Kevin Jackson (Men's Track and Field), Rachel Melhado (Women's Soccer) and Carissa Corbett (Lacrosse) were selected to attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum.
- Â Â Kevin Bandy (Men's Swimming and Diving) was a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Award.
- Â Â The Volleyball team earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2012-2013 season.
- Â Â The Men's Golf team was named an All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
- Â Â The Lacrosse team was named an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Squad for the 2013 season.
- Â Â Four former student-athletes including Ronnie Ghent (Football), Tony Williams and Herb Crook (Men's Basketball) and Nonie Paulson (Women's Swimming) received NCAA DI Degree Completion Awards to assist in graduation.
- Â Â Six student-athletes were named Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars including: Abigail Chin (Women's Swimming and Diving), Pedro Coutinho (Men's Swimming and Diving), Tia Gibbs (Women's Basketball), Shawnta' Dyer (Women's Basketball), Jude Schimmel (Women's Basketball) and Peyton Siva (Men's Basketball)
- Â Â Nine student-athletes earned the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award. These students graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or better. Honorees were Nikolas Sachs, Alex Burtch, Kevin Bandy, Melissa Steele, and Raine Thompson (Swimming and Diving), Chelsea Leonard (Softball), Lauren Proctor-Brown (Rowing), Jamie Redding (Lacrosse) and Mandy Brown (Tennis).
