Colavecchia on Meyer: "There is no question that Ryan deserved the most improved award. He was in and out of the lineup early in the season and then became a regular. He is a very gifted athlete and is very composed on the ball. He played well in the spring and assumed some leadership in the back four due to Matt Neely's injury. He needs to play more physical to become a complete defender."
As a Freshman: Saw action in 16 games, starting in 11...Missed five games with an injury...Finished the season with four shots...Returned to the lineup and started in nine of the last 10 games...Named Most Improved Player by his teammates...Named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll...Named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
In High School: Played for Centerville High School in Ohio in 2000 and was a starting varsity player as a sophomore...Began playing for Wayzata High School in 2001 and was a starting varsity player for the top-ranked team in Minnesota...Was the leading scorer in 2001...Named all-state, all-area and all-section...Named to the Minnesota All-Star Team...Played club soccer for Saint Croix Soccer Club, who finished 2002 as the state runner-up.
