Cards Fall in 10 Innings to Kentucky

Camryn Lookadoo went 1-for-2 on the day with a career-high four walks and one RBI. Madison Pickens logged two doubles, scoring two runs and knocking in two others.
The Cards plated four runs in the bottom of the first after Pickens doubled in Easton Lotus and Bri Despines, with Lookadoo crossing home on a throwing error. Pickens scored on another error to get the fourth run across for the inning.
Kentucky added its first two runs in the top of the second, but more errors by the Wildcats sent in three more Louisville runs in the bottom of the inning.
After a quiet third and fourth innings, UK grabbed three more runs in the opening frame of the fifth inning to bring them within two at 7-5. Kentucky tied it up in the sixth with two runs, but Lookadoo singled in Chelsea Mack from second base to take back the lead.
A solo homer from the Wildcats evened the score up again at eight in the top of the seventh, and Louisville could not complete the comeback and sent the game to extra innings.
Both pitchers kept it quiet in the eighth and ninth innings, but UK scored four runs in the top of the tenth to take its 12-8 lead. Madi Reeves took the loss to move to 3-1 on the year.
Louisville will be back in action this weekend, April 24-26, at Ulmer Stadium when it welcomes Syracuse for its final home ACC series of the season.
