Cardinals Head to Cincinnati to Face Xavier

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team is taking a brief break from their ACC slate and will travel to Cincinnati to face Xavier on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Cardinals are 7-4 going into the weekend and coming off a pair of losses to ACC foes Clemson and Georgia Tech. Germany Davis (6-3) and Elena Noguero (5-0) along with Berta Miret (6-2) have been the mainstays in scoring for the Cards. Noguero and Miret are 7-3 at No. 2 and Davis with her partner Lucia Gallegos are 6-3. Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina have held their own at No. 1, facing some of the best players in the ACC.

The Musketeers are 4-6 and coming off an 6-1 win over intrastate rival Dayton last Saturday. XU has notched wins over Lipscomb (7-0), Northern Kentucky (7-0), and Gonzaga (4-2). Xavier is led in singles by Madeleine Rexroat, who has a 5-5 record primarily at No. 2 and Abby Nugent has four wins at No. 1. In doubles, Emily Flowers and Natalie Smitek have a 4-4 record at No. 3. Nugent and Clara Owens have posted a 403 mark at No. 1. XU is looking for their sixth-straight, and seventh overall BIG EAST Championship.
