Northern Kentucky University Norse women's tennis opened its spring season last Friday with a 6-1 loss to Western Kentucky. Sydney Zakic earned the first singles win of the year for the Norse, taking down her opponent in three sets in the #3 slot, but that was the lone win of the day for the Norse as all other Norse (0-1) fell in two sets in singles play.Â

Eastern Kentucky comes to the Ville with a 1-3 record, beating Dayton but falling to East Tennessee State, Marshall and Kentucky as their spring season got under way. Last season, the Colonels finished the 2024-25 regular season with a 9-19 overall record and posted five home victories. EKU opened the spring particularly strong, starting 4-2 from Jan. 16-24 with Division I wins over Northern Kentucky (6-1) and UNC Greensboro (4-1). EKU returns nine players from last year's roster.
