Cards Sweep Third Doubleheader of the Season

All ten singles victories were won in straight sets

Louisville 7, Butler 0
The Cards jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a 6-1 win by Andre' Steinbach and Louis Chusseau. Following the win on court 3, Pedro Cressoni and Russell Lokko had a dominating 6-1 victory to take the doubles point.
Entering singles competition with a point advantage, UofL junior No. 68 Walid Ahouda secured the first singles win, taking down Riccardo Baldi in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
Quickly following Ahouda, Jerald Carroll secured his first even collegiate singles win with a 6-1, 6-4 victory on Court 6.Â
Chusseau decided the match in his 6-1, 6-3 victory over Siddhartha.
Cressoni followed shortly after, securing a 6-2, 6-3 win for the fifth point of the match. Steinbach and No. 122 Hamza El Amine were the final two Cards to win their singles courts, pushing the Cards to a 7-0 sweep over Butler.Â
All six of the singles courts won by Louisville were won in straight sets.Â
Louisville 5, Xavier 0Â
The Cardinals started out hot with doubles; Court 3 saw the Cards first-time duo Steinbach and Carroll go 6-0, not dropping a single game. Shortly after on Court 1 the ranked tandem of Ahouda and El Amine claimed a close 6-4 game against Xavier's Alex Kotarski and Max Pettingell.

Louisville headed into singles play with an advantage and stayed relentless while going one-on-one. Steinbach picked up the first win in straight sets going 6-2,6-1.Â

On Court 6, Lokko overcame his opponent 6-4, 6-3, finishing second on the singles courts and remaining undefeated in both singles and doubles on the season.Â

El Amine won his court 6-2,6-3 to clinch the win for the Cards.

With a close match on Court 4, Chusseau and Xavier's Bode Campbell finished their match in a tiebreaker in the second set. The sophomore from France won the tie break 7-5 to add an extra point to the Louisville win.

Louisville will continue its homestead on Saturday, January 24th against Notre Dame. The match is slated for 12 p.m. ET.
