Brohm Set to Open Third Season at Louisville Saturday
August 25, 2025 | Football
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville football head coach Jeff Brohm will lead a veteran squad onto the field Saturday to open up the 2025 season against Eastern Kentucky at L&N Stadium.Â
Entering his 12th season as a head coach, Brohm has tallied a strong 85-52 record across his stints at Western Kentucky, Purdue and Louisville. Even with his extensive career as a veteran leader, the Louisville alum still gets nervous heading into week one of the season.Â
"I always have nerves," Brohm told the media on Monday. "I think nerves are good. No matter who you're playing, you have to have some nerves kicking in to make sure you're ready to go. I think it motivates you to work harder, and it makes sure when you go to bed at night, you know you've put in the work."
This is the third season Brohm has donned the title as head coach for the Cards, holding a 19-8 overall record and the program's first ACC Championship appearance.Â
During his time with Louisville, he has created a winning culture within the program. The team most recently wrapped up last season by defeating in-state rival Kentucky 41-14 for the Governor's Cup and claiming a 35-34 victory over Washington in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.
"Winning is not easy, so taking all the necessary steps to get there is vital to success for myself, our coaches and our players," Brohm stated.Â
As the Cards take the field for the first time in 2025, Brohm has his eye on a number of areas he wants his players to execute.Â
"When you get into the game setting, you have to see which guys will be able to concentrate, do the small things correctly and perform come gameday," he said.Â
On Saturday, the Cards will debut a new quarterback in redshirt senior Miller Moss along with some talented returners and a host of new faces on both sides of the ball. Brohm's goal is simple and straight forward.
"When it's time to take the test, you have to show up and ace the test," Brohm said.
The Cardinals' first test is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET on Saturday against EKU and can be seen on ACC Network.
