BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Louisville men's soccer team travels to UAB on Monday, August 25 for its first road contest of the season. The match is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Louisville enters this Monday match riding high after a dominant 6-0 season-opening victory over Southern Indiana on Aug. 21, marking their largest season-opening win since a 10-0 rout in 1980. Notably, the Cardinals recorded a program record nine assists and logged 36 shots on goal—the second-most in a single match in school history. The Louisville defense also held the Screaming Eagles without a shot throughout the entire match.
Six different Cards recorded a goal in the first match of the season – Ryan Quintos, Nicholas Parham, Leon Kondic, Filip Fredhall, Michael Lee, and Chase Vazquez.
Parham, the freshman from Smyrna, Ga., had an impressive collegiate debut with the early goal and two assists. This marks the first time since 2015 that a Louisville player has recorded two assists in the same match.
Monday's match will mark the 16th meeting between the two programs. Louisville is 1-11-3 all-time against UAB, most recently falling at home to the Blazers, 1-2. The two sides played as members of Conference USA together from 1995-2004. The Cards' lone win came at home in 2002 (W, 1-0).
