Twenty-Two Cardinals Named to Academic All-ACC Team

Louisville led the conference with 22 selections on the annual team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program had 22 student-athletes named to the Academic All-ACC baseball team released by the conference on Thursday.
The 22 players led the way among the 16 ACC baseball programs.
Louisville's student-athletes recognized were Alex Alicea, Tucker Biven, Jack Brown, Brennyn Cutts, Wyatt Danilowicz, Nate Earley, Ethan Eberle, Patrick Forbes, Colton Hartman, Bayram Hot, Eddie King Jr., Michael Lippe, Peter Michael, Lucas Moore, Jake Munroe, Casen Murphy, Kamau Neighbors, Garret Pike, Zion Rose, TJ Schlageter, Tagger Tyson and Justin West.
Alicea, Biven, King, Lippe, Moore and Rose were all on the team for the second consecutive season.
Requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a career 3.0 GPA and 3.0 GPA in the most recent semester. In addition, position players must have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's contests, while pitchers must have participated in at least 20 percent.
The 22 selections continue Louisville's impressive run of academic success that saw the Cardinals extend their streak of consecutive semesters with a 3.0 grade point average to 28 straight this spring.
King and Rose each earned Academic All-America honors, while Rose was the NCAA Elite 90 Award Winner for the highest GPA among student-athletes competing at the College World Series.
The academic success pairs together with on the field success as the Cardinals made their sixth College World Series appearance and were one of the final four teams remaining, finishing the season with a 42-24 overall record.
