
Cardinals Finish Seventh at Lexington Regional

The Cardinals had their best team round of the season at 8-under-par 280
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville women's golf team concluded the NCAA Lexington Regional in seventh place after its best round of the week on Wednesday afternoon from Keene Trace Golf Club. The Cardinals fired a season-best 8-under-par 280 as a team on Wednesday to move up into seventh place to close out the season. For the tournament, the Cardinals were 8-over-par 871.
Freshman Bailey Burkett put together her best round of the season with a career-best 4-under-par 68 on Wednesday. Burkett tallied three birdies and one eagle for the round and only had one bogey and not until the 17th hole. The 68 tied for the lowest 18-hole score by a Louisville player this season. Burkett finished the tournament tied for 25th overall at 2-over-par 218.
A pair of Cardinals joined Burkett under par as Thienna Huynh and Beatriz Barrios both carded a 2-under-par 70 in the final round. Barrios had a team-best six birdies, including one on her final hole of the day. Barrios finished the tournament tied for 30th overall at 4-over-par 220. Huynh had four birdies, including three on the back nine and on each of the final two holes. Huynh tied for 21st overall at 1-over-par 217.
Carmen Griffiths tied Huynh for the tournament as she finished tied for 21st overall at 1-over-par 217. In the final round on Wednesday, Griffiths was 1-over-par 73.
Veronika Exposito tallied an even-par 72 for the final round and finished tied for 43rd overall at 8-over-par 224.
