The redshirt senior won the women’s long jump at the Jim Green Invitational with a mark of 6.46m (21-2.5).
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - University of Louisville women's track & field redshirt senior Synclair Savage has been recognized as the ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Savage closed out her regular season at the Jim Green Invitational on May 2, taking the top spot in the women's long jump with a mark of 6.46m (21-2.5), the second-best wind-legal mark of her career behind only her program-record leap of 6.53m (21-5.25) that came at the 2023 Texas Relays.
The stellar performance comes just a week after the redshirt senior posted a wind-aided mark of 6.61m (21-8.25) to win the event at the Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on April 26 that ranks her second in the ACC and eighth in the NCAA thus far this season.
After missing last season due to injury, the two-time All-American has secured four event victories in four meets during the outdoor season while reestablishing herself as one of the top long jumpers in the nation, having also notched marks of 6.34m (20-9.75) at the Bobcat Invitational on March 28 and 6.43m (21-1.25) at the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 18.
The honor marks the first time Savage has earned an ACC weekly honor during the outdoor season in her career, having won a pair of ACC Women's Field Athlete of the Week awards during the 2023 indoor campaign.
Savage and the rest of the Cardinals will return to action when they begin their postseason at the ACC Outdoor Championships from May 15-17 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
