Louisville Women Finish as Team Runner-Up at ACC Outdoor Championships

Jayden Ulrich was named the Women’s Field MVP after winning ACC titles in both the shot put and discus throw.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Louisville track & field teams concluded competition at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, seeing the women's squad finish as the team runner-up for their highest finish at the meet in program history.
The Louisville women racked up 89 points over the course of three days of competition in Winston-Salem to set a new standard for the program at the conference championship meet, competing for the title with eventual champion Virginia down to the final event of the weekend.
The men's team finished eighth in the team standings with 50.33 points, improving four spots off their 12th-place finish from last season's championship event.
Jayden Ulrich was once again dominant, defending her title in the women's discus throw by shattering her own meet record with an eye-popping mark of 62.89m (206-4) to become a double champion for the second consecutive season. At the conclusion of the meet, Ulrich was named the Women's Field MVP after earning 20 points for the Cards in the team standings, becoming the second athlete in program history to earn the honor.
The Cards also got a podium finish in the women's discus throw from Jade Whitfield, who recorded a throw of 57.38m (188-3) to earn the bronze in her first ACC Outdoor Championship meet.
Kiyah Yeast closed out her stellar weekend with a silver medal in the women's 200m and a bronze in the women's 100m. The graduate student clocked a 200m time of 22.73 (+3.7) to dip under the 23-second mark in the event for the first time in her career while also posting a 100m time of 11.24 (+2.8).
In the women's triple jump, Sharvari Parulekar finished as the runner-up after posting an incredible wind-aided leap of 13.46m (44-2) (+4.7) on her final attempt of the competition to jump from third to second and secure crucial points for the Cards in the team race. Additionally, Sophia Day placed eighth to round out the scorers with a mark of 12.65m (41-6) after placing fifth in the women's long jump earlier in the weekend.
The Cards also found success in the men's triple jump, as Roman Kuleshov set a new personal record with a final mark of 15.91m (52-2.5) to clinch the bronze medal and move to third in program history. Miller Jones placed sixth to earn Second Team All-ACC honors in his first ACC Outdoor Championships, posting a season-best mark of 15.46m (50-8.75) that ranks him ninth in the Louisville record books.
Soledad Jean also earned Second Team All-ACC honors in the women's high jump after tying for fifth place with a clearance of 1.72m (5-7.75), while Josh Moore got in on the scoring in the men's high jump with a final bar of 2.01m (6-7) to finish in a tie for seventh.
After finishing as the runner-up in the men's shot put a day earlier, Noah Koch doubled back to earn another medal in the men's discus throw, securing sixth place with a throw of 52.69m (172-10).
The Cards also saw a sixth-place finish in the women's 4x100m relay as the quartet of Olivia Jenkins, Yeast, Ruby Nwosu and Chelsea Williams combined for a season-best time of 44.83 to move up to third in school history.
The Louisville women concluded the meet with a program record of 3:38.99 in the women's 4x400m relay that was recorded by the team of Keira Antoni, Yeast, Nwosu and Day. The time knocked over a second off the previous record of 3:40.06 that was set at the 2024 ACC Outdoor Championships by the foursome of McKenzie Bell, Nwosu, Taylor Boggess and Day.
Over the course of the weekend, the Cards combined for three ACC titles, 15 podium finishes, 20 All-ACC honors and five program records.
The postseason will continue from May 28-31 with the NCAA East Regionals that are set to take place in Jacksonville, Fla. and will serve as one of two qualifying meets for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Athletes who hold top-48 marks in the East region throughout the season in their respective events will earn berths to the regional meet. The full list of Louisville qualifiers to the regional competition will be announced next week.
