Former Cardinal Standout Carter Ayars Named to USWNT Roster for Ireland Series

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Former University of Louisville field hockey standout Carter Ayars has recently been named to the USA Field Hockey Women's National Team 24-athlete squad for the upcoming series against Ireland.
The series will take place June 7-8, 2025 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Find the complete USA Field Hockey release here.

Ayars (Wilmington, Del.) played for the Cardinals from 2016-19. The defender earned NFHCA third team honors in 2019 and was a two-time NFHCA All-West Region selection.
She continues her time with the USWNT after playing in the two-game series at New Zealand in January 2025. In 2023, the defender was a member of the USA Field Hockey5 teams which captured the gold medal at the inaugural Hockey5s Pan American Cups (PAC) in Kingston, Jamaica.
Ayars was previously a member of the USWNT Development team, U-21 team and U-19 team.
