
Cards Off to Historic Start at ACC Men's Golf Championship

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's golf team raced out to a historic start at the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Championship Thursday at the Olde Stone Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ky.
The Cardinals finished the first round of the championship in second place after shooting a 7-under-par 281, the best start since the Cardinals joined the league in 2014. Louisville enters the second round just three shots behind Virginia, which leads the field at 10-under-par. North Carolina is in third place at 5-under-par and SMU and Wake Forest is knotted in fourth place at 4-under-par.
Louisville has three players in the top 10 after 18 holes, with three players shooting under par. Sebastian Moss is tied for second place overall with a 4-under-68. The senior from Pearland Texas, recorded five birdies until he registered his only bogey on No. 18. Moss enters Friday's round just one shot behind Virginia's Bryan Lee, who is the leader in the clubhouse at 5-under-par.
Easton Johnson and Cooper Claycomb are tied for sixth overall after they each shot 70 on Thursday morning and are just three shots off the overall lead. Patrick Keeling is tied for 33rd overall at 1-over-par and Brady Smith is in 50th place after his round of 75.
The Cards will look to remain in contention when play begins at 9 a.m. om Friday morning.
