Yeast Wins 100m to Close California Split Weekend

The Cards close the weekend with 19 personal-best performances and a total of eight marks that currently rank among the top 10 in program history.
The University of Louisville track & field teams closed out the fourth and final day of their split weekend on Saturday, as the squads rounded out competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Beach Invitational.
Over the course of the three-meet split, the Cards broke a pair of school records while seeing 19 personal-best performances and a total of eight marks that rank among the top 10 in program history.

BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
Two days after setting a new program record in the women's 3000m steeplechase, Layla Roebke doubled back with a personal-best time of 4:20.75 in the women's 1500m, moving her up to third in program history in the event.
In the men's 1500m, Gustav Bendsen clocked a team-leading time of 3:46.71 that ties him for the fourth-best time in school history, just over a second behind Wesley Korir's Louisville record that has stood since 2007.
BEACH INVITATIONAL
A small group of Louisville sprinters competed at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach on Saturday, led by Kiyah's Yeast event victory in the women's 100m.
Yeast set a new personal record with a time of 11.54 that moves her up to fifth in program history in the event, while the Cards also got personal-best times from Keira Antoni (1:01.45 in the women's 400m hurdles) and Terence Jackson (49.23) in the men's 400m.
