Jayden Ulrich Posts Second-Best Discus Mark in NCAA History
April 12, 2025 | Track & Field
The senior launched a throw of 69.39 (227-8) at the Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational to move to second in NCAA history and third in U.S. history in the event.
RAMONA, Okla. – University of Louisville track & field senior Jayden Ulrich continued to establish herself as one of the top young throwers in the world, setting a new personal-best of 69.39m (227-8) on Saturday afternoon at the Oklahoma Throws Series World Invitational.
The jaw-dropping mark moves the senior up to second in NCAA history and third in United States history, while also currently ranking as the third-best throw in the world during the 2025 season, behind only Valarie Allman's mark of 73.52m (241-2) that set a new American record and Laulauga Tausaga-Collins' mark of 70.72m (232-0) that both also came on Saturday in Ramona.
Additionally, the toss shatters the previous Louisville program and ACC conference record of 66.14m (217-0) that Ulrich set in her outdoor season debut at the USF Alumni Invitational in March.
The Cardinals will return to action next weekend when they split between a pair of meets in California. The squads will be represented at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa from Apr. 16-18 and the Beach Invitational in Long Beach from Apr. 18-19.
