Cardinals Close Out Texas Split Weekend

The squads combined for five performances on the final day of competition that rank among the top 10 in program history.
The University of Louisville track & field teams closed out the third and final day of competition of their split weekend between the Bobcat Invitational and Texas Relays, getting five performances that rank among the top 10 in program history in the process.
In the women's triple jump at the Bobcat Invitational, Sharvari Parulekar made her first appearance in the event in a Louisville uniform with a mark of 12.93m (42-5.25) to place third and move up to third in program history. Sophia Day continued her stellar start to her sophomore outdoor campaign, placing fifth with a personal-best leap of 12.69m (41-7.75) that ranks sixth in the Louisville record books, just one day after moving to ninth in school history in the women's long jump.
The Cards also had success in the men's triple jump in San Marcos as Roman Kuleshov placed fourth to open his outdoor season in the men's triple jump, posting a solid mark of 15.59m (51-1.75) while Miller Jones finished sixth with a mark of 15.24m (50-0).
Lucas Couron finished as the runner-up in the unseeded section of the men's pole vault at the Bobcat Invitational with a mark of 5.15m (16-10.75) that ties him for third in program history, while Ashley Callahan made her Louisville debut in the women's pole vault at the Texas Relays tying her outdoor personal record with a clearance of 4.22m (13-10) that brings her to fifth in Louisville history.
In the men's 110m hurdles, Paul Kallenberg knocked over half a second off his previous personal best with a time of 14.90 to close out his first weekend of competition in the Louisville uniform since the 2024 indoor season.
The Cardinals will resume competition with a three-meet split next weekend from Apr. 4-5 as the squads will be represented at the Jim Click Shootout & Multis in Tucson, Ariz., the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif., and the Jim Vargo Invitational on the campus of Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky.
