Cards Set for Split Weekend in Lone Star State

Both squads will be represented at the Bobcat Invitational and the Texas Relays for their first split action of the outdoor season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track & field teams are set to continue their outdoor campaign with their first split weekend of the year, as the squad will be represented at a pair of meets in Texas with the Bobcat Invitational and the Texas Relays.
The Louisville jumpers and multis will open their seasons at the Bobcat Invitational, which will be held from Mar. 27-29 on the campus of Texas State University in San Marcos. Live results for the meet can be found here.
The men's squad competing in the Bobcat Invitational will be highlighted by KJ Byrd and Paul Kallenberg, with Byrd set to make his collegiate debut on the outdoor track after a historic freshman indoor season and Kallenberg ready to return to action in the Louisville uniform for the first time since the 2024 indoor season.
Synclair Savage and Soledad Jean will lead the women's squad, as Savage will return to the outdoor runway in the long jump for the first time since 2023 while Jean will contest the high jump after a 2024 outdoor season where she qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the event.
Track events will begin tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. ET with Section B of the women's 100m hurdles, while field events will get underway for the Cards at 2:00 p.m. ET with the first section of the women's long jump.
Additionally, a pair of Cardinals are set to contest the pole vault at the 97th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, which attracts some of the top talent around the nation every year. Live results for the meet can be found here.
Ty McPhail will compete in the university/college division of the men's pole vault on Thursday afternoon at 6:15 p.m. ET, while Ashley Callahan is slated to participate in the university elite section of the women's pole vault on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
