Cards Fall to No. 5 NC State Friday Afternoon

Wolfpack walk away with a 4-0 win
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell to No. 5 NC State 4-1 in conference play on Friday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
No. 5 NC State 4, Louisville 0
NC State (15-4, 6-0 ACC) started off doubles competition with a 6-3 win on Court 2, where the No. 23 pairing in the country took down Louisville's tandem of Natan Rodrigues and Hamza El Amine. Shortly after, the No. 9 duo in the country clinched the doubles point for the Wolfpack with a 6-3 win on Court 1.Â
Top-ranked NC State was too much for the Cards as they took down Louisville's five, six, then one courts in two sets each.Â
Junior Will Mayew was up 6-4, 4-2 on Court 2 over No. 23 Martin Borisiouk, but the match was abandoned after NC State clinched a 4-0 victory.
Louisville (6-13, 0-7 ACC) will continue its homestand with a doubleheader on Sunday. The Cards will face No. 1 Wake Forest in match one of the day with first serve set for noon and match two will be against crosstown rival Bellarmine and begin at 5 p.m.
