Louisville drops match 4-0 against No. 33 Clemson
CLEMSON, S.C. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 33 Clemson on Friday Evening at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.Â
Clemson (11-1, 1-0 ACC) started off doubles competition with a 6-1 win on Court 2 before their No. 44-ranked pair of Noa Vukadin and Max Smith clinched the point with a 6-2 win over Andre' Steinbach and Miguel Avendaño on Court 1. Court 3 was abandoned at 4-4.Â
The Tigers proved to be too strong for the Cards, taking down Louisville's six, two then five courts to clinch the match.Â
Senior Natan Rodrigues put up a tough battle against No. 47 Vukadin on Court 1, but the match was abandoned 6-2, 5-4.Â
Kosuke Nakanishi also earned a set one victory and was ahead in set two, but his match against Romain Gales was left unfinished at 7-5, 4-3.Â
Louisville (5-7, 0-1 ACC) will travel to Atlanta, Ga. for a conference match against No. 54 Georgia Tech Sunday at noon.Â
