Louisville Returns Home to Face No.15 NC State and No.29 Wake Forest

This weekend marks the first of a four-match homestand
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville Women's Tennis team is set to host No. 15 N.C. State and No. 29 Wake Forest this weekend. The Cardinals will face off against the Wolfpack on Friday, February 28th, at 4 p.m. and the Demon Deacons on Sunday, March 2nd, at 12 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Â
The Cardinals return home after spending the last two weeks on the road. UofL is coming off a loss against No. 57 SMU 4-1, in Dallas Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Germany Davis picked up the only Louisville point against the Mustangs, winning 6-1, 7-5 at the No. 5 spot. Davis remains undefeated in singles play this season with six wins. Â Â

Scouting the Wolfpack: N.C. State is 5-3 on the season. The Wolfpack come into the weekend on a three-match win streak, picking up wins over No. 6 Michigan, Old Dominion and SMU. N.C. State boasts an impressive doubles duo of Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo, who is ranked as the No. 2 doubles pairing in the country with a 7-1 record in dual action. The Wolfpack also roster three players inside the top 100 in singles with Michaela Laki (30), Gabia Paskauskas (73), and Zampardo (100).

Scouting the Deamon Deacons: Wake Forest is 10-3 on the season, they come into this matchup ranked 29th in the ITA poll. The Deacons also come in on a three-game win streak, picking up wins against William & Mary, Navy and Western Carolina. They opened the season with a close loss against the No. 18-ranked Tennessee Lady Volunteers at home, losing 4-3. They are led by freshman standout Brianna Baldi, who is ranked No. 95 in singles play, boasting a 9-2 overall record, and is on a four-match win streak. Wake Forest also has the 75th ranked doubles duo in Makayla Mill and Krystal Blanch who has a 5-2 overall record during the spring.
