The University of Louisville lacrosse team will face No. 2-ranked North Carolina in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup Friday at 12 p.m. (ET) at UofL Lacrosse Stadium. Admission is free.

Friday's contest will also mark UofL's Mental Health Awareness Game as the teams collaborate with Cards All-In, a student-led mental health organization, along with The Hidden Opponent and Morgan's Message.

Opening Draw
• Friday's contest will be the 12th meeting between the two ACC foes, with the Cards looking for their first win in the series.Â
• The Cardinals come into this matchup with a 3-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in ACC play, coming off a 2OT thriller against California last Saturday, winning 10-9.Â
• Sophomore Reese Whiteman scored a career-high five goals against Cal, with Izzy Seikel adding two goals including the game-winner at Cal.Â
• Whiteman leads the Cards with 11 points, 10 goals and one assist. Â
• Junior Negai Nakazawa paces the team with 12 points (7G, 5A). She is also riding a 19-game point streak, dating back to April 23, 2023.Â
• Whiteman and Nakazawa have each scored at least one goal in each of Louisville's five games this season.Â
• Freshman Olivia Scroggie leads the team in draw controls with 19. Â

Series History: UNC boasts an 11-0 record in the series, with a 5-0 record at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.Â
Last Meeting: March 23, 2024 – Then No. 12-UNC handled the Cardinals easily in their last meeting, winning 18-12 in Chapel Hill. Nicole Perroni led Louisville with four goals, which was her season-high that season, while Kylea Dobson and Negai Nakazawa each notched two apiece. North Carolina's Kiley Mottice led the Tar Heels with five goals in the match, with Olivia Dirks adding four goals and Alyssa Long tacking on three.  Â
Scouting the Tar Heels: North Carolina comes into Louisville ranked No. 2 in the Lacrosse/KANE Media Poll and rep an undefeated record at 4-0. UNC has two players on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List for best lacrosse players in the nation in redshirt-junior defender Brooklyn Walker-Welch and redshirt-sophomore attacker Marissa White. Graduate student Ashley Humphrey leads the Tar Heels in points with 20, having eight goals and 12 assists. Starting sophomore goalie Betty Nelson leads North Carolina with 25 saves and a 5.43 GAA in 210 minutes played. Â
• The Tar Heels picked up quality wins against No. 18-ranked James Madison in their season opener, No. 5-ranked Florida on the road and No. 4-ranked Syracuse last Saturday. Against Liberty in their second game of the season, they tied a program record for fewest goals allowed, winning 23-1 on the road. Â
• Head Coach Jenny Levy is currently in her 30th season at the helm of Tar Heels Lacrosse. She has a career record of 421-130. She was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2021, recently inducted into the IWLCA Hall of Fame this season and has three national championships with UNC, winning in 2013, 2016 and 2022.
