LOUISVILLE, Ky - The No. 6/5 University of Louisville men's basketball team extended its win streak to six games with an 87-46 victory over Eastern Michigan Monday night at the KFC Yum! Center.Â
Â
"I have known Coach (Stan) Heath for a long time and met him on several occasions," said Louisville head coach Pat Kelsey. "I have the utmost respect for him. He has been a head coach for a long, long time both in college and at the professional level. He has a good team. I really believe that the MAC is a heck of a conference. A couple months from now we will look back, and this will be a good win. I think they are going to be a contender in that league. They have the pieces. They are a strong, physical team. I was proud of our guys because I feel like we met that physical challenge tonight. We knew it was going to be that type of game. I thought we got a huge boost off the bench. Khani (Rooths), Aly (Khalifa), Adrian (Wooley) and Kobe (Rodgers) all gave us a huge boost. In the locker room afterwards, we pick out a couple of guys and I mentioned them. The guys were all excited when I got to Aly and they all cheered. I said here is Aly's line: 11 points and they all cheered, six rebounds and they all cheered and five assists and they all cheered. And I said 'drum roll, three blocks' and they all went crazy. I thought it was kind of fun. We have a quick turnaround. We have to recover tonight. We have to be smart about how we practice tonight from a physical standpoint. We will have a great day of preparation with film and walk-through for another battle on Wednesday."

The Cards used the starting lineup of J'Vonne Hadley, Mikel Brown Jr., Ryan Conwell, Sananda Fru and Isaac McKneely for the fourth time this season.Â
Â
Eastern Michigan got on the board first, but that was the only lead it would ever carry in the matchup. Louisville's defense held the Eagles to a single digit score, going on a 27-5 run, until a drained three with 2:33 remaining on the clock, bringing the score to 31-12.
Â
After carrying a 16-point lead into the locker room, the barn burner continued for the Cards as they outpaced Eastern Michigan 54-29 in the second half. Louisville used a 12-0 run to take its lead from 22 to 34 points by the 12:12 mark, burying the Eagles.
Â
Aly Khalifa scored 11 points off the bench in the effort, earning his highest total in a Louisville uniform. In addition, the redshirt senior packed the statline with six rebounds, five assists and three blocks while going 3-for-4 from the three-point line.Â
Â
McKneely led all scorers with 17 points with 15 scored from behind the arc. He also tallied three rebounds and a block in 27 minutes of action. Brown was the only other Card to reach double figures with 11 points while adding three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Â
The Eagles were paced by Mohammad Habhab who notched a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Carlos Hart who knocked down nine shots from the charity stripe.
Â
Louisville tallied a season-high 10 blocks while allowing none from the opposition. It was the first time Louisville blocked 10 shots since blocking 10 against Winthrop on Nov. 22, 2024. The Cards also had a 38-11 edge in bench points and outscored Eastern Michigan 20-5 off turnovers.
Â
Louisville will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 26 with a matchup against NJIT. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ACC Network.
